August Style Trends:

What does August mean to you?  Do you have vacation plans, is it slower at work, are you getting ready to prepare for back to school?  For me I start thinking it’s fall.  I know I know – it’s not, because in Seattle, August can be one of the hottest and nicest months of the summer.  I think I start thinking its fall because for so many years it was time to start looking at back to school supplies for my kids, back to school shoes and clothes, and also – its almost football season!  Football has always been a big part of my life; my dad coached HS football for a long time, my husband played in the NFL for 13 years, and my son is in his last year of playing college football at USC.  So, my mind is thinking fall.  But not yet right?  SO – let me pull myself out of game day outfits, soups, chili recipes, and the leaves changing and remember it’s still August.  :)

OK-Take a look at my Top Outfit Picks for her and him.  These are some of my personal favorite looks I have found for my clients recently.  To hi light my absolute favs on these it would first and foremost be the polka dot Free People Shorts.  I LOVE these!  Easy to style for a casual day or for a night out.  The red gingham set by Cinq a Sept is light and fresh for the month of August and the great thing about a set is that you can break it up.  Style the shorts with a white tee shirt or white short sleeved blouse.  Style the top with black linen pants or white linen trouser shorts and matching white linen blazer.  A set is a perfect way to really get some bang for your buck so to speak.

On the looks for him- shoe game is always key for guys.  Magnanni, Cole Haan, and UGG make these three showcased on the slides.  The blazer and linen shirt are from Nordstrom.  The linen shirt is always a staple piece to me for guys in the summer.  White, blue, navy,,,,, whatever color best suits him it’s a definite go to.  Style it with pants, shorts, under a blazer, or on its own.  I also love the variety in your sunglasses for men.  Utilize these as well as your other accent pieces ( jewlery, hats, belts) to change up your look.

So to wrap up, I am going to pledge to do my best to stay in August – and not look ahead – at least for a few weeks. :) As always, I am here for you!  To shop for you, to find you versatile and economical looks so you can find it easy to get dressed and be in your beautiful life.  Happy August!

Xoxo
