June Style Trends:

June is a full month.  Its officially summer, there are graduations, birthdays, weddings, life events.  Its so exciting and when it comes to choosing your outfits it can be overwhelming.  I recently styled a husband and wife for their trip to a concert in Napa, and I also styled a client for an upcoming summer wedding.  I absolutely love searching the stores for those pieces that I know will work for them.  The process of having my clients try on all of the selected pieces and see how it showcases the uniqueness of the person they are and reflect that is such a gift to me.  I am very thankful.

I am also thankful this month because my husband and I celebrate being married 30 years.  That’s pretty cool.  Life is challenging, it has its ups and downs.  With moves, job changes, health changes, etc.  you can’t predict how someone or yourself will handle all that.  It has been so far, an incredible journey with someone I love very much and continue to love every day.  I am thankful.

I am also thankful this month because my oldest daughter is getting married!  She has done an incredible job planning the wedding and I am so excited for her and her future husband.  He is a great guy with a great family and most importantly – he loves my daughter and she loves him.  That’s a great beginning.

Through the process of her upcoming wedding I tried on 19 dresses.  Some of you might cringe at that thought, but for me, it was so much fun!  Choosing what you wear to an event involves a few things.  Ask yourself some questions to help you narrow down your look.  1.) what is the vibe of the event?  Is it black tie, is it a garden theme, is it in the afternoon or evening.  2.) Where is the event located?  Dress is different in different parts of our state and our country. 3.) What are you most comfortable in?  What colors do you like?  Those are my top 3 questions to start with.  Because what you ultimately decide to wear to an event most likely will not be how you dress every day, but it should reflect you and be enjoyable.

Ok – moving on to June fashions.  I am seeing so many dresses for women in beautiful florals.  Maxi skirts are a great way alternative to shorts and shorts are showing up in a longer trend which is so fun.  Be sure to check out my shorts/skorts slide on my JUNE TOP PICKS for a few of my favorites.  Always remember with your outfit that you can change any look with your accessories.  This month I focused on what purse/ tote/ clutch you choose.  So many fun ones out there and my absolute favorite is the Valentino Mini Purse in gold.  It’s classic and beautiful.  For my guys, I did a reel of wedding looks and talked my son into being my ‘model’.  I think it’s nice to see the clothes on someone instead of always just a picture.  I did a few different color combinations.  Guys – please reach out to me – I am very quick and efficient with helping you find your looks for summer events and additional outfits for travel.  And its fun!  :)

I hope you all are having a fantastic start to June.  Please remember that what you choose to wear is the icing on the cake so to speak.  The most beautiful thing about your outfit is always you.  No that’s not meant to be cliché- it’s the absolute truth.  So when you walk into your next event, whether I have styled you or not, hold your shoulders back, be confident and be thankful for the amazing person that you are.

Xoxo
