May Style Trends:
Hooray it’s May! When I was in grade school, the first day of May was May Day! We would spend the last week in April making a construction paper ‘basket’ and in it we would put tissue paper flowers that we had also made. Then you got to set it on the doorstep of a friends house, or for your mom, ring the doorbell and run. So May 1st, I always recall that fun childhood memory. And as I’ve previously said, my crafting skills are very sub par so I am sure my May Day baskets were super stellar. Lol :)
So let’s chat about looks for May! I’ve posted my May Top Picks. There are so many fantastic pieces out there right now for my guys and gal clients. These are just a few things I have highlighted. You can screenshot them for your reference if you like. On the inspo for Mothers Day, the mug from Anthro is a fun one – such a beautiful color and weight. I love choosing my coffee mug in the morning, it’s a fun and intentional way to start my day and usually I choose one that one of my kids has given me. The slippers and the PJ Set from Ralph Lauren are a fantastic gift idea. The PJ set is a gorgeous, soft cotton. I don’t think you’ll want to not be in it!! Also as always, a silk scarf is a great option too. An easy way to add a pop of color into your look.
My Top Picks for shoes – take a look at the Jaxa Sandal – so so pretty! The Maycie Toe Loop Slide is a nice everyday basic and the Woven Sandal by Free People is such a vibrant print. Last one I will mention is the Jelly Slide Sandal by Vince. I like this one a lot and it comes in a few colors. The Jelly shoe trend is hot right now and there are lots of different variations and styles for it which is nice.
Top Picks for skirts – I love a good skirt. Such a great alternative to shorts and pants. I included the whole set of the Amira Mesh by ViX. A beautiful combination together and also broken out on its own. The Saloon Maxi skirt by Free People – LOVE this one. I style it with my Frye Cowboy boots in dusty black and a black tank and accessories. Also wear it with my chocolate brown block heel sandals and white blouse. Another look with this one is with my flip flops and t shirt. Easy to style and easy to wear.
Ok – so many items on my Florals Top Picks. How can there not be right now! All of these are fantastic options – just depends on your lifestyle and where you are going.
Last slide is for my guys – Blue seems to be the shade on this top pick collection for May. The suit by Boss on here is fantastic. The Button Up Shirt by Madewell is my favorite also on here. I just purchased this for my son who is in his 20’s. He loves it. It’s a very lightweight knit – perfect for spring and summer nights. He can style it with shorts, jeans, under a black sportcoat, or unbuttoned over a tank or t shirt. It’s a great one!
